New Hot Times: A stringband in the Boston area that burns like fire !

Two years ago, three working stiffs from the greater Boston metropolitan area got together on a whim to play some old time music. They were birds of a feather, without actually being related to avians of any kind, and they soon desired to form a "band". Then stuff started happening, like the births of children, work, general laziness on the weekends and the band-that-could-have-been-great became a distant, foggy memory.

This summer we had an epiphany. It was painful as good thoughts come to us so very rarely, but in the end it turned out just fine. We would re-kindle our re-doubled efforts to become the Old Time band we've always wanted to hear. We chose a weekly practice time that we could always make: 6:30 am on Sat., and we began to search high and low for those hidden old time gems buried in the piles and piles of recordings from the 20's and 30's.

Rest assured, Chelmsford, MA at 6:30 in the morning on Saturday IS the place to be for old timey good times. In a gray office meeting room, in a gray office building, in a non-descript office park, magic happened.

And thus, here we are. Yes, we are bleary eyed from too much banjo before sunrise, but we're working hard to bring you the very best old time music in the spirit of the golden age of American stringbands.
